Bulkheads & Seawalls

Bulkheads & Seawalls

Bulkhead & Seawall Design & Construction

Leaders in Constructing High-Quality Seawalls & Bulkheads

Seacoast Marine Construction leads the marine construction industry by offering design, permitting, material service and construction. When it comes to bulkheads the most cost effective and optimal design is one that performs its specified function for the desired life cycle at the most economical cost to the customer.

The largest concern when designing and building a bulkhead in the North East is the potential damage that can be done to a bulkhead by the two most prevalent marine borers— Limnoria Tripunctata (Gribbles) and the Teredo Navalis (Shipworms). When designing bulkheads, it’s important to use timbers with the highest CCA treatment allowable for your site-specific area or to use a tropical hardwood, such as green heart or purple heart.

Seacoast Marine Construction ensures the highest quality bulkhead & seawall construction for our projects, from planning to materials, to execution, our goal is long-lasting, high value marine construction services.

Sheet Pilings

When deciding which sheet piling is right for you, material lifespan and durability are the most important factors. Vinyl sheet pilings have a lifespan of up to forty years, where steel coated sheet pilings have a lifespan of up to fifty years. These figures are general estimates, as tides, salinity, and the cleanliness of the body of water are all key factors in the lifespan of the product.

Piers & Float Systems

Piers & Float Systems

Pier Construction & Float Systems

Flawless Pier & Float System Construction and Installation

Seacoast Marine Construction uses a three and four pile bent design which adds extra structural support and defies ice extraction. Cap systems, stringer systems, and rake systems can be designed and constructed for offshore applications (areas with extreme current, tides, winds, or large fetch areas) or for back water applications with less extreme environmental conditions. All of our dimensional timbers are fastened to piles using galvanized timber bolts which are pre-drilled, set, and impacted to insure no there is no checking.

Our focus on quality and professionalism ensures our pier construction and float system installation is the finest in the North East region.

Decking Choices

Decking choices range from CCA, TimberTech®, IPÊ, Mahogany, Teak or Purpleheart, and are all at the customer’s request. All fasteners are stainless steel at a 4 to 1 ratio. Pier installations can include custom handrails, verticals, chamfer cuts, flat rails, 90-degree rails, and other custom features including a nautical rope look, lifeline cable look, and more.

Float Systems

Seacoast Marine Construction uses the latest polyethylene closed drum floatation systems. Our float systems can be built from either timber aluminum or steel framework depending on the application. Custom one-piece Alcoa Anodized Aluminum gangways are also standard materials used at Seacoast Marine Construction.

Helical Pier Foundation Systems

Helical Pier
Foundation Systems

Helical Pier Foundation System Installation

We are a Licensed Chance Helical Pier Foundation System Installer

Sinking foundations, cracked and buckled walls and uneven floors are problems commonly faced annually by some quarter-million homeowners. Homes and other structures situated on unstable soils settle when their foundations are subjected to extreme moisture conditions or lack proper drainage. A shifting foundation may result in structural damage to your home and a loss of your investment.

Helical Pier® Foundation Systems offer a technically superior and cost-effective alternative to other remedial systems. This innovative system is founded on the principle of turning a screw anchor into stable subsoil strata until the torque applied indicates that the necessary load capacity has been achieved. Adjustable brackets are then attached to the base of your foundation walls, connecting the screw anchors to your foundation. The weight of your home is then shifted to the screw anchors. In the process, foundations, walls and floors are repositioned and retained from further movement.

Seacoast Marine Construction is a licensed Chance Helical Pier® Foundation System installer in the New York, Tri-state area.
